Back Home!

We arrived home last night after extending our vacation by a day. The last two days were the hottest of the week so we couldn't bare to leave. Had a wonderful time and I am so jealous of everyone who lives in beautiful South Carolina. We have been going to Hilton Head every March Break for the last 6 years. My in-laws are amazing hosts and the week is filled with great times, great food and great relaxation. I had to temporarily lift my shopping ban as there were way too many great deals to be had. It was painful to watch the temperature in the car drop from 26 degrees to -1 but at least the majority of the snow has disappeared. Below are a few shots from the trip, oh and proof that I do in fact have a head!

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patricks Day! I felt it was fitting for me to finally give in to my husband (who is Irish) and watch a movie he has been trying to get me to watch. In honor of St. Paddy's Day I agreed to watch an Irish horror movie called Grabbers. Now I really hate horror movies as I get way too scared but my husband assured me it had more laughs than a real horror movie. Well let's just say this movie was ......interesting. I mean only in Ireland would alien like creatures die if they tried to eat a person with a high blood alcohol level leaving all the characters no choice but to camp out in the pub and drink.

May all your pockets be heavy
and your heart be light.
May good luck pursue you
each morning and night.

Traditional Irish Blessing

Spring Outfit # 7

So this is my last spring look. I will be home shortly and I am really hoping I will finally be able to see the grass and can put away my winter coat and boots. I guess this could be more of a summer look as it would have to be quite warm in order for me to wear a tank top. The great thing about this one is it has so many colours in it you could match it with just about anything.

Spring Outfit # 6

Nothing beats a little black dress. This one has to be one of the most comfortable. Wish my pictures were a little better so you could see all the great details, like the drawstring belt and pockets. I also love how this could be worn casual or dressed up. Paired it with a great necklace I picked up last summer. (Again, please ignore my pasty white legs!)

Spring Outfit # 5

Feeling very July 4th in this outfit. I definitely have red white and blue covered. Found this purse rather far back in the closet and it inspired the rest of the look. My favourite part of this top, check out the sleeves, I love the floral design.

Spring Outfit # 4

I have shown both of these pieces before on the blog, just not together. I do love the unexpected mix of  skinny animal print jeans with a flowy lace pleated top. I rolled up these jeans cause I love a good jean capri in the spring / summer.

Spring Outfit # 3

More stripes, what a shocker, I honestly did not know I owned so many striped shirts until I started doing this blog. I guess I love stripes. This one is great as it has two of my favourite colours - purple and green in it. Decided to add the yellow purse cause two colours just isn't enough!

Spring Outfit #2

I am in love with this sweater. Love the cut, love the colour, love the way it looks. This is the kind of sweater that I wish came in multiple colours, cause if it did I would buy several. After scouring the store I could only find this one. I cannot wait to wear this. I paired it with my new orange clutch and some very comfortable wedge sandals. Please excuse any overly pale skin that has not seen the sun for quite some time.

Sunday....Quote Day

I know I am guilty of this, worrying so much about everything and forgetting life is short. Instead of worrying just get out there and enjoy life!

Spring Outfit #1

Arrived safetly after a very very very long car trip. Thank god for Starbucks, Audio Books and my pillow. Keeping it really simple with this look. I bought this top a couple of weeks ago, love the details around the neck and the arms as well as the pleating at the neck and sides. A look for running errands made easy in capris and flats.

Tommy Hilfiger

As you read this I am sitting in my car on my journey (16 hour drive) to South Carolina. It will be difficult for me to post my outfits from there so what I have done is pull out some of my spring outfits in hopes that by the time I get back I will actually be able to shed some of my layers and start enjoying some spring clothes.
Here is my first one, a Tommy Hilfiger dress that still has the tags on it because I wasn't sure if I was going to keep it or not. I have included two looks one for warmer days and one for cooler ones.

Old Eggplant

I have a lot of clothes that I have had for quite some time. Some call me a pack rat but I say, hey you never know when you might wear something again. Case in point, I believe that this blazer may be the oldest thing in my closet. I bought it at XOXO a VERY long time ago. I don't want to mention just how long ago cause I feel like some people were still in diapers when I bought this. The reason I bought it back then is the same reason I hung onto it and still love it.....the Colour! Not even sure if these pictures do it justice, it is a great eggplant colour. I also happen to have this shirt and purse that are a few shades lighter but go together perfectly. I am almost done packing for my trip and cannot wait to get away for some R&R.

Pink & Peach

I love this short sleeve sweater that combines pink and peach. The only problem, it is short sleeves and it is way too cold to bare that much arm right now. My solution was to add this white shirt underneath. To be honest I am not really happy with it and much prefer this shirt on its own, so I either suffer all day being cold or I wait until it gets warmer out to wear this top. What do people do who live in climates that are warm all year round? They are so lucky! I guess they wish they could wear big wooly sweaters and boots.
