Sunday.....Quote Day

Sunday is quote day and I am keeping it real simple this time. Just a reminder to myself.
Hope everyone who celebrates is enjoying their Easter. I plan on making some serious dents in some easter chocolate later on today!

Happy Easter

Wishing everyone a very happy Easter this week-end. Yesterday was the first warm day, I think temps reached around 13 degrees. It was so nice to be able to be outside without feeling cold. I'm pretty sure today is going to be the same. Hoping the weather is as nice or nicer for everyone this long week-end.

Polka Dots

Today it is all about Polka Dots! From head to toe. I picked up this shirt and these shoes when I was down South a few weeks back. The weather network is promising us temperatures in the double digits for this long week-end so my fingers and toes are crossed.
Thanks to Helen at  Blue Eyed Beauty Blog for featuring me on her  Wednesday Weekly Roundup where she shares other people's blogs with her readers.

A few people have asked so I am going to try to include (as much as possible) where my clothes are from at the bottom of the post.

Volunteering

Today I am going to do something I love to do. Volunteer at my son's school. I was never the best student and liked school more for the social aspect than anything else, but I must say going to school today is so much more fun when there are no tests, I can't get in any trouble and I can leave at any time. Plus I get to play with all those sweet children whose minds are just starting to be formed and their  imagination and views of the world are inspirational.
Have to stay comfy, and I am loving the stripes and floral combination right now, paired with my favourite boots I am ready to take them on.

Found Money

I haven't worn these pants in a long time. The best thing about pulling out pants that you have neglected for way too long.....I found $20 in the pocket. No idea when this was from and not sure I really care,  it is a bonus regardless. I love this top but it may be time to get rid of these pants, they are old and not fitting like they used to. We are still not reaching double digits in the weather here and I am seriously thinking I need to get on a plane and go somewhere hot. Anyone got a private plane they can lend me? I have $20!

As I am one of the most technically challenged people you will meet, figuring out how to add a "Pin It" button onto my photos was quite a feat. Now I do realize that most people probably find this quite simple, but trust me I am shocked I figured it out. Anyway if you ever want to pin a picture now you can! Place your mouse over the bottom right side of my photos and there should (fingers crossed) be a Pin It button.
Today is a sad day, my brother and family are leaving to go back home to B.C. it has been so much fun having them and the house is going to be very very quiet after they leave.

Maple Syrup

With my brother and his family here it has been super busy. Yesterday we all had such a great day at a Maple Syrup Festival. We strolled around, the kids got to learn how maple syrup is made, practiced drilling holes in tress to get the sap out, we all tasted the delicious maple syrup and more importantly the maple candy (Yum) and then we ended by having pancakes and syrup for lunch. We crashed in the afternoon (probably from all that sugar) and then went out for a Mediterranean dinner, relaxed with a hot tub and ended the night by watching "The Life of Pi" another great movie and another great day.
Still freezing here, had to wear long johns to make sure I could manage spending so much time outside.
Where is Spring??

The Intouchables

Last night, after my sister has been raving about it for ages, I finally watched the 2011 French Film "The Intouchables". What an amazing movie based on a true story. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to watch a Comedy/Drama.
In honour of Earth Hour last night, here is my Sunday Quote.

Cobalt Blue

Cobalt blue is one of my favourite colours right now. It is such a vibrant colour and compliments so many other colours. I picked this one up at Banana Republic and it wasn't quite as good a deal as my other shirt from the other day ($2.50!) but it was close!
Things are hectic around here as I have my brother, his wife and 2 kids staying with us for a week. Family is the best kind of company, when the house is a mess, you haven't made dinner yet and the kids are running around having a blast there is no need to tidy up or try and quiet your child down. After all they are your family and they know you.

Sweater or a Dress?

Not quite sure if this is a sweater or a dress. This seems to happen a lot these days, not sure if it is because dresses are shorter or if sweaters are longer. This has an asymmetrical hemline so on one side it is ok as a dress however, the other side is a wee bit short. Solution, tights and boots. Think I am safe either way.

Best Deal Ever

The pictures don't quite capture the colour of this blouse. It is very bright coral. Perfect for the 2nd day of Spring, which at this point is hard to believe. It also happens to be one of the best deals ever and trust me I have found a lot. Picked this up at Banana Republic, it was in clearance already, the salesperson advised all clearance items were 40% off, then my husband informed me he received an email with a 40% off coupon for your purchase that day......what did all of this mean? I got this blouse for $2.50...Best deal ever.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show

I would imagine a lot of people reading this might never have heard of the Mary Tyler Moore Show. It began before I was born but was an iconic show. It was the first time a show featured a never-been- married independent career woman as the main character. Why you may ask am I sharing this piece of television history, well when I first saw this dress the thought that instantly came to mind was Mary Tyler Moore. I remember my Mom watching the show and have seen many re-runs. This just seemed like the type of dress Mary would have worn. That and it reminds me on the 70's. I had a love hate relationship with it, not sure if I loved it or hated it. The price was right so I went with the love. I think I  will enjoy it more in the spring with wedge sandals. Oh and I am pretty sure Mary would not have worn these nylons!

Fuchsia Jeans

I spoke too soon about the disappearance of the snow. Yesterday we got a dusting of the wet stuff along with freezing cold winds. To say I am not happy about the fact that it is beyond mid March and the weather is still miserable is putting it mildly. I know I vowed not to buy anymore jeans, but I could not resist these fuchsia ones that were $10. At least they are something bright and fun on an otherwise grey snowy day.
