Baby Lips

As I mentioned in my "What's in my bag" post I have not been leaving home lately without this Chapstick. I wish I was one of those people who look amazing in bright red lipstick but truth be told, it is just not me. So sadly I stick to lip glosses and chapsticks. Now don't get me wrong, I love lip gloss and have tried hundreds many! I stumbled across Baby Lips by Mabelline and fell in love. It is a perfect mix of a good chapstick, a hint of colour and SPF. A perfect combo. They come in a lot of different colours, these two are my favourites. Oh and did I mention they also smell delicious!

Black Maxi

I love a maxi dress. I looked forever for a simple black one that fit right, and finally after searching most of the summer, found this one at Target of all places. I love that it can be dressed up or down. The possibilities are endless. I have shown it with two different accessories. I couldn't decide if I preferred the red belt and silver necklace or the smaller bow belt and gold necklace. What do you think looks better?

Neon Shorts

These shorts are another item I picked up before my trip. I wasn't looking to buy another pair of shorts but when I saw them and they had my size I fell in love. I wore these casually when we went into town in Cayman with a tee and sandals. I thought I would show how I plan on wearing them for a night out as well.

Floral

I am not usually a big fan of floral prints. I have a few pieces but it is not what I am initially drawn to. This dress however, was different. I love the large print and the fact that it is black and white was perfect. I bought this just before my trip and ended up wearing it out for dinner on my Birthday. I think it will be a great piece to carry me into the fall as well. Blazer and boots and I will be ready to go.

My Trip to Cayman Islands

So it will definitely be back to regular outfit posts tomorrow, but I just could not resist sharing with you my wonderful 10 day trip to Cayman Islands. For those that follow me on Instagram I apologize as you may have seen a few of these already. We had such an amazing trip and for those of you who are considering a trip to the Caribbean and are not sure where to go, I strongly suggest trying out Grand Cayman. We realized when we got home that we took close to a 1000 pics (oops!) but you see we got this new underwater cover for the iPhone and had a ton of fun taking pictures underwater. I spared you those shots and did narrow it down to these 10!

This is the balcony of the condo we stayed at. This is where we ate all of our meals. The view was breathtaking and the sound of the waves magical.

We visited the Turtle Farm and my son loved to hold the baby turtles.

This was a great day that we spent snorkelling and visited Stingray City, this was my first interaction.

These are beautiful creatures. (photo credit to my husband, I tried to take credit but since I was in the very next shot he assured me it was him who took it).

I got up enough courage to finally hold one.

I also got to spend my Birthday in Cayman and this night my husband and I went out for dinner while my lovely in laws took care of my son.

I love this quote for Sunday Quote Day. I am blessed to have some wonderful friends and they are definitely friends that I am certain of!

Happiness

Anyone who knows me knows that I am happiest in the sun preferably by a pool and a beach. So the fact that I spent the past 10 days in Cayman Islands with hot hot weather sitting by a pool everyday that is beside the beach could not make me any happier. This shirt I brought along sums it all up! Salty Hair, Coconut Oil, Big Wave and Hot Sun = My Happiness. Got home very late last night after 2 flights and am trying to adjust to reality.

Tie-Dye

This maxi is pretty outside my comfort zone. I don't wear a lot of strapless tops and when I do they are certainly not Tie-Dye. When I saw this dress tucked in with all the other maxi's in the store I fell in love, I loved the colours. Definitely perfect for a dinner out in Cayman. Please excuse the tan lines, like I said I don't wear strapless and that includes my bathing suits!

My Birthday!!

Today is my Birthday!! UG another year older......trying to forget about the number and focus on how I feel which is a whole lot younger than I am. Plus it is kind of hard to complain about your Birthday when your on vacation sitting watching the ocean.

Travel Quote

Since I am currently away I thought this quote was perfect. I am a huge fan of travelling and love to go and experience different places in the world. I know it is not always easy for people financially or logistically, to be able to go somewhere but travelling can also mean jumping in the car and going to visit a different town or city, wherever  you go I strongly encourage people to get out and see what is out there.

Cayman Islands

I know this blog is all about what I wear but while on vacation it is pretty simple. This was my day yesterday and it consisted of my bathing suit and pj's ( which I have spared you). Swam in the ocean, drank from coconuts and tested out our new underwater case for the iPhone ( I never knew this existed but my husband did) It has been a great purchase, I never realized just how hard it is to pose underwater.

Cover Up or Dress?

Even though I am currently soaking up the sun in Cayman, I did prepare some post of what I would be wearing while I was away. I bought this dress probably 5 years ago on my first visit to NYC and I am ashamed to say I have never worn it. I originally thought maybe I would wear it as a bathing suit cover up, then I decided it is actually fine as a dress. When I was packing I pulled it out as I thought it would be great for strolling around or grabbing lunch somewhere. I still however, may change my mind and just throw it over my bathing suit.
