Little Black Dress

I love this dress, there are so many ways to wear it. On this particular cold day I find adding a scarf a good way to warm it up. I am finally out of my PJ's after 3 days of being sick. Still not 100% but so much better than I have been. Has anyone watched "Being Erica" it is a show that I think came out in 2009 or 2010. Being stuck in bed with no new shows on forced me to find something in Netflix. Well, I love this show and ended up watching 2.5 seasons. I think there was only ever 4 made so I am more than half way through!

Sunday Quote Day

I cannot believe Christmas is over, I feel like it was a whirlwind of lots of family, food and great memories. I have spent the last 2 days in bed feeling sorry for myself as I have been sick. The good news is it waited until all the festivities were finished, the bad news is I have been in bed for the 2 out of the 3 days I had off. Nothing has been done, my house is a mess, presents are everywhere, laundry needs to be done and I have to go back to work tomorrow. Oh well, hopefully I will be back to normal tomorrow.

Ice Storm

Well, we have survived this ice storm. Stayed close to home yesterday since our driveway was pretty much an ice rink. Its back to work today so hopefully some of it has melted and the roads will be ok. I must say as much as I hate winter (probably more than any other person alive) there is something very beautiful about everything covered in ice. I even added a pic of our from/backyard. Pretty stunning.

Hope everyone is having a great week-end. We are suffering through a freezing rain/ice storm which really messes with my plans of last minute shopping! On a positive note, my brother and his family are due to arrive today so I need to start working on dinner for 15.

Coral & Navy

I love this colour combo of bright coral and dark navy. I added a silver belt to break it up a bit. Nothing like trying to brighten up the grey winter with a bright coloured shirt.

Walter Baker

I love this Walter Baker dress I recently picked up. The colours and pattern are what attracted me, that and I love dresses that have long sleeves for the winter. I think this dress will be perfect for the fall as well.

Robots

Sometimes I forget that I am no longer 12! Like when I saw this necklace, I knew I had to have it. Now I know that most women my age would probably not get excited over a robot necklace, but what can I say? It is so cute! Is it just me or does anyone else get excited for this kind of stuff?

It is such a busy time of year, I feel like I have not had a moment to catch my breath. This definitely hit home for me! We had a crazy snow storm yesterday and I feel like we are snowed in! (not really just wishing I didn't have to go out in this weather). Hope wherever you are you are warm and cozy, prerferebly in front of a fire with good company.

Rachel Roy

Anyone else love Rachel Roy? I found this dress at half the cost of its original price and I was super excited. It is long sleeves and has pockets, I mean does it get any better than that? Oh and it is black, white and grey......my kind of dress! I did throw on my own belt since it didn't come with one. (remember this belt? I bought it in the Men's section). It has been a crazy week and I have barely had time to take a breath. We had our annual Girls Secret Santa Party the other night and it was so much fun. I am so happy it is Friday! Black & Grey

I really don't mean to keep wearing so much Black and Grey, maybe it is the weather that is making me want to be dressed in dark colours. It is so dark in the mornings now and dark so early in the evenings. It doesn't get more simple than this look. Here's hoping for some sunshine and brighter colours.

Houndstooth

Houndstooth is a big trend this year and in fact it is a pretty classic print that you usually can't go wrong with. This dress is sleeveless so a little to cold for December but throwing on a black blazer makes it weather appropriate. The dress came with a black belt but I switched it out for this yellow one, a bit of colour always makes things more interesting.

Black Friday Find

I didn't buy a lot of things on Black Friday but I did pick up this dress for $15 at H&M. I love the structured look, how the skirt part flares and it is an item I can wear year round. Here is what it looks like on its own, which is fine for warmer weather.

I originally thought I would wear it with a blazer..........

However, I think I much prefer the look with a cardigan and belt for the winter. What do you guys think?

Plaid & Pearls

We had another sale last night and it was a lot of fun. I decided on some plaid and pearls. I have had this shirt and sweater for ages and don't think I have ever worn them together before. That is the best thing about working your closet, coming up with new outfits without having to go out and buy anything new.

Fall Coat

The temperatures this week have been a bit more mild than normal temps at this time of year. I figured I could get away with wearing my fall coat one more time.

Turtlenecks

I love turtlenecks during the cold months. With this one you will definitely see me coming! Subtle it is not. I love the colour mix of orange and purple and the print is amazing. I kept everything else very simple as the shirt is enough on it own.
