Lego = Chipped Nails

I love having my nails painted, but I have to apologize for all my chipped nails. When you need to dig through many tupperware containers full of lego to find the exact piece your son needs in order to complete the masterpiece he is building, it is cause for a lot of chipped nails.
One of the things I love to do is wear different shades of one colour. Today's colour is green. Add a bit of brown and I feel as though I could blend in quite well in a forrest.

Layers

Since I am cold 90% of the time, layers are very important to me. Cardigans and Blazers are my best friends. Below is a simple way to incorporate an extra layer, instead of just a cardigan I have added a blazer on top. As it is technically Spring I only have a tank under this cardigan, however if it was colder out I would most likely have a button up shirt on as well. Really hoping Summer gets here soon so I can start to shed some of these layers.

Sporty

Most people who know me know that there is nothing "sporty" about me. Now don't get me wrong, I love my Zumba Class, Yoga, Walking and Riding my bike, but that is about it! My husband has been trying to get me to Golf for years and maybe one day I may get there.  So you can imagine my surprise at finding this Adidas sweater in the "sports" section of TJ Maxx. (the closest I will get to shopping in a sports store). Now I am not sure what sport you would play in this sweater but I am happy to have it. Maybe I will wear it to do a little power walking in the mall ......

Go to Outfit

Sometimes you just need an easy "go to" outfit. The one I always go to is a blazer and jeans. Throw on a coloured pair of shoes and you are good to go! I own a whole lot of blazers and a whole lot of jeans so this outfit can definitely be changed up but the basics always remain the same...

Jackets

We had such a great time with friends last night. Thai food, live music and pool. Unfortunately the weather has once again taken a turn for the worse. During the day yesterday was a comfortable but rainy 17 degrees and now this morning the wind is howling and we had snow flurries, it is sitting around 2 degrees. This weather makes it very challenging to get dressed. My favourite option is always a little jacket. This one is really old but I have worn it over and over and it always does the trick.

Pockets

The pictures unfortunately do not truly capture the colour of this top. It is one of my favourite - dark green. It also has pockets! Not sure why pockets are always such a bonus, I just get so excited when I find them in unexpected places. Yesterday's trip to the psychic was a lot of fun. I have seen this women 3 other times over the past 5 years and she has remained consistent with what she has told me every time I go! Happy Friday.

Psychic

Today I am going to see a Psychic. Now I know that the majority of people do not believe in psychic's, I  have visited a few in my life and of course there are some that have no clue and I'm pretty sure they are just trying to make a buck. I do however, believe that some people have abilities that we may not all understand. My personal experiences have been pretty hard to explain. I have been told things that no one would ever know. Many years before I met my husband I was told I would date three dark haired men before I met a light haired man who would be my husband. 10 years and three boyfriends (all dark haired) later, I met my husband (he was wearing exactly what she told me he would be). I am a pretty open minded person to many things so when two of my girlfriends are spending the day together to visit a psychic and have lunch I am definitely joining them.

Massage

After complaining about my neck & back for so long, my (very kind) husband bought me a gift certificate at Christmas to go and have an hour long massage. Yesterday almost 4 months later I finally went and I have to say it was amazing. I could literally go every other day. I definitely need to add that to my list of what I would do if I ever won the (big) lottery.....help family & friends, help charity, buy a house on a beach, hire cook, hire personal trainer, hire driver and now....hire masseuse!

Chambray & Fuchsia

Last night I had a great dinner out with 6 girlfriends. Tons of laughs and great food. (Had one of the best Paninis I have ever had, cheese, avocado, crab, tomato and bacon = Yummy).
Pulled out the Chambray shirt again, this is by far one of my hardest working shirts. Paired it up with my fuchsia jeans. The weather is slowing changing here and we are actually in the double digits, now if only the rain would stop.

Patterned Pants

As promised, here is the outfit I wore to see Oprah on Saturday night. Patterned pants are so huge this year. I picked these up when I was in South Carolina and have been dying to wear them ever since. I wasn't sure I could pull the look off but since I loved these pants so much I went for it anyway! Had to wear my leather jacket because it was freezing and raining.

A night with Oprah

Last night my friend and I were luck enough to attend "A Night With Oprah". This was my second time seeing Oprah as almost exactly a year ago I went to her Life Lesson's seminar. It was such an amazing night and I am still trying to digest all of the amazing lessons she spoke of. If I wasn't so enthralled in her stories I might have written down some of the tips she shared in achieving your best life. For now I will leave you with one her quotes.....

How Old Are You??

Sometimes I just can't help myself! I forget how old I am. When I saw this ring I knew it was probably a little young for me but then I thought if something makes you happy does age really matter? It made me smile the second I put it on and anything that does that belongs with me.
No outfit today as of yet, this morning is a little crazy. I will be getting ready to go see OPRAH!! later today and will post my outfit on Monday.
