3 of 7

Still away enjoying myself with lots of relaxation. So here is outfit # 3 I love this dress, I actually love any dress that has pockets, also love the colour. I wear this dress with tights (fleece lined!) which keeps me nice and warm. Will most likely again change the necklace to something a bit more dramatic. Hope everyone has a fun and safe New Years Eve! We are going out for a nice dinner than watching the Downton Abbey Christmas Special.

2 of 7

As per my previous post...Here is option #2. Nothing better than a simple black dress. (this is also my husband's favourite out of the 7 outfits) I will most likely change up the jewellery or possibly wear different shoes.

Outfit 1 of 7

I am currently away enjoying a break in South Carolina (and hopefully warmer weather) with my very generous in-laws. I didn't want to take a break from blogging so came up with this.....unlike most people, I still have a Christmas party to go to. My husband's work always celebrates their Christmas party in January. I love this as it is something to look forward to in January when there is not much else going on. I don't want to buy a new dress as I already have lots and none of these have been worn to his parties in the past. I am going to post 7 options that I have, one for each day I am away!
Here is option #1 - this is a bit more of a casual look but I do love the jacket (plus I have never worn it - still has the price tag on it)!

Head to Toe Black?

I don't usually like to dress all in black but every once in awhile I just feel like it. Plus I love this sweater, it is getting old and I fear the day it will no longer fit. I like the look of this sweater with black pants, hence the head to toe black. (sorry for the picture quality - the lighting was bad plus I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to photography!).

Graphic Sweaters

Well the last of my family has left and I feel as though Christmas 2012 is officially over. The house is quiet and I miss the noise and craziness. I got so spoiled this year and I love going through all of the wonderful gifts and finding homes for everything.
The big craze this year has been graphic sweaters. I especially love the one's with animals but have yet to score one. I have shown a couple of mine already (umbrella and star) but this is actually the one I got first. I bought this a couple of years ago when I was visiting New York and love it.

Boxing Day!

As much as I would LOVE to hit the stores today to see what Boxing Day Sales I can find, I am going to resist. I am trying to enjoy every bit of precious time I get to spend with family instead. Keeping it very simple today. I know a lot of people believe that you cannot mix brown and black, but I am not one of them. Once again wearing my favourite brown boots with some comfy black (stretch - key for day after major eating!!) pants.

Merry Christmas!!

Wishing everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope everyone is enjoying their day. I know I usually keep quotes for Sundays but felt this one was fitting for today.

The day before Christmas....

and all through the house family is laughing, children are anxiously waiting to tear open gifts, delicious smells are wafting from the oven, cheeks are rosy from walks in the woods...memories are being made.

I don't wear a lot of red but always try to during this time of year. These boots are my absolute favourite  and this necklace is a gift from last Christmas from two of my little nieces.

Sunday...Quote Day

I cannot believe Christmas is in 2 days, we are awaiting the arrival of one of my brother's and his family and frantically planning all the events for the next week. I love this time of year, even the chaos that goes along with it.
Anyone who knows us, knows we LOVE our Apple products, so I thought it fitting that I share this quote from a genius of a man Steve Jobs.

French Connection Dress

I picked up this dress a little while ago in the clearance section for $20. I love that it is a dress I can wear year round. Tights and boots for the winter and sandals for the summer. Also love the colour combination of red, black and grey.

Lost in the Closet

I have had this skirt for 2 years and have never worn it. I do really like it, I like the design, it is comfortable and quite warm so not really sure why it has been neglected for 2 years. I think like a few other items, it has just gotten lost in my closet. My goal now is to start pulling out these items and making  sure they get their fair share of time out of the closet.

Casual in Converse

Feeling tired today after our festive party last night. Keeping it casual today. I don't wear a lot of running shoes (except when I am attempting to exercise which unfortunately doesn't happen nearly enough) but I definitely make exception for a pair of converse.

Rock n Roll

I'm feeling a little rock n' roll in my python skinny jeans. I'm off tonight to an annual secret santa party with my friends. Looking forward to lots of laughs. (especially if its like last year and the karaoke machine comes out!!) The key to wearing both tight pants as well as a print is all about balance. If the bottoms are tight go for a looser fitting top. This sweater is more of a box shape so it balances out both the tightness and the pattern of the pants.

Day of Silence

On Tuesday, December 18th, there will be a blogger day of silence.
We are also raising money that will go to an organization in the memory of this tragedy. The organization is called The Newtown Family Youth and Family Services. Here is the official description of the support service we are donating to:

"Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. NYFS provides programs, services, activities, counselling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area.

ANY DONATIONS MADE TO NEWTOWN YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY TO THOSE EFFECTED BY THE SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SHOOTING."

Please visit THIS PAGE to make your donation.
We can't imagine how they must be feeling, especially this close to the holidays. We would love for you to spread the word on your own blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Let's make a difference and use blogging in a positive way. Thank you in advance for participating.

Shopping in the Men's Section

A little secret about my shopping strategy....I always check out the mens section. Now obviously I do not mean all of the menswear, but one of the areas is the BELTS! For some reason men's belts do not cost as much as some women's. On my last shopping trip I picked up a men's "Sean John" belt that was in clearance for $5.00 Here it is (I'm in love with the colour).

The Hobbit

First I want to say that my heart is aching for all of those families affected by the Connecticut shooting yesterday. I cannot even imagine what they are going through and I am saddened that these events are still taking place. They are all in my thoughts and prayers.
I am heading out today to a matinee of the much anticipated movie "The Hobbit". Wearing my raining day sweater and red jeans.
