Back from New Orleans

I'm back from 5 days in New Orleans. We had such an amazing time. It is a great city with so much to do. Last time we were in New Orleans we did a lot of touristy type activities so this time we just strolled around the city, did some shopping and ate a whole lot! I am sure I must have gained weight, if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen some of the desserts I ate plus the biggeset pancake ever. Unfortunately the football game (which was the reason we went) was a bit of a dissapointment since our team got creamed but I guess you win some you loose some.

Travel

Thought this was appropriate since I am currently travelling. If I ever win that lottery I keep dreaming about,  I would spend so much time travelling the world.
We are having such a great time in New Orleans and will be heading home tomorrow.

Cowboys!

We are in New Orleans and are having a blast! Thought I would show you my Game Day outfit (complete with a signature from Jason Witten) as it is pretty different from my normal attire. Yes, I even have a Cowboys purse. I married into being a fan of the Cowboys and have grown to love them in my own way. People who know me know that I am by no means a "sporty" girl, but something about live games sure are a lot of fun.

Leaving on a Jet Plane.....

Anyone else love that song? I have been humming it all morning because today I am leaving for a 5 day getaway to New Orleans! This is our 2nd time to New Orleans and it is such an amazing place. We are going to watch a Dallas Cowboys game with some great friends and I cannot wait for some R&R.  This is my plane outfit, I know it is a lot warmer there than it is here but it is still freezing here and those planes and airports are so darn cold I needed to layer. I will however, be leaving all socks and boots at home!

Green / Teal ?

This is probably one of my favourite colours. Not sure what you would call it. Is it green or is it teal......not quite sure as even these pictures don't quite show it correctly. Regardless I love it. I always leave most thing to the last minute, today is no exception, I am leaving for 5 days in New Orleans tomorrow and I haven't done a thing (need to pack my son's bags as he is going to my sisters and his grandparents house, do laundry, pack for myself / my husband?). Is it only me who does this every time I travel?

Pattern Pants

I wanted to wear something other than black, tan or cream with these pants, so I decided on this red burgundy turtleneck. I quite like the combination. I kept everything else very simple, I think the pattern on these pants is enough and does not need any other distraction. What other colours would you wear with these pants?

Black & Tan

I love Black and Tan together, they are both neutrals and go with so many other colours, but there is something nice and simple about the two together. Today is my Mom's Birthday, we celebrated yesterday but I want to wish her a huge Happy Birthday. Thanks for being so kind, loving and supportive throughout the years. I cannot imagine having four small children and moving to a new country knowing no one and starting from scratch, you are my hero! Happy Birthday Mom.

Green & Purple

Hope everyone had a great Halloween Last night. The rain managed to stay at a light drizzle so at least we weren't completely soaked. I am trying desperately hard to avoid the large leftover box of chocolate bars but so far it is not working. I don't have much to report for my October Budget I only spent $16.50 for the month which was one shirt and a bracelet.
Green and Purple are one of my favourite combo's. My wedding colours were actually sage and lilac (a more subdued version). So for a cool fall November 1st this is what I am wearing.

Happy Halloween

In honour of Halloween, I am wearing all black. Sometimes when your stuck it is this simplest thing to wear. Throw on some jewellery and you are ready to go! I have attached pics of our two pumpkins we finally got around to carving last night. My husband is in charge and always does an amazing job.

Bright Blazers

I had such a great time yesterday volunteering at my son's school. I was glue gunning like crazy while the kids told me how they wanted to design their drums. My son was super excited to have me there. The funniest moment was when I was sitting on my little chair (at child level) my son was hugging me and said Mommy your hair smells so good, at which point the little girl beside my son said let me smell, she then said "you smell just like my grandma"......mental note, time to change my shampoo!

Having a break from all the browns I have been wearing lately, wore this yellow blazer in the summer with all white and thought I would try it today with some more fall like attire.

Volunteering

Today I am volunteering at my son's school. I am supposed to be helping in art class to make Native American Drums. Not sure what skills I will be able to bring as I am not overly crafty. I just love having the opportunity to see my little man in action at school. He is still at the age where it is super cool for Mommy to show up. I cherish these moments as I know they will not last. I need to wear something comfy since those little chairs where not made for adult comfort.

Maxi Dresses in the Fall

I am still trying to stretch my summer wardrobe as far as it will go. Today it is with my maxi dress. Adding a chunky sweater, jean jacket and boots is a perfect way to transition a summer maxi into the fall. See below for how this dress looks in the summer.

Chocolate

It is Sunday quote day. Given that this week is Halloween and I have already eaten an entire box of Halloween chocolates (I told my husband not to buy them so early as I will end up eating them all) I thought this quote was appropriate.

Mustard & Leopard
