Anniversary Dinner

Thanks for all of the wishes for my Anniversary yesterday. We had such a nice dinner last night. I even indulged in dessert and ended up with the best Creme Brule ever! I need to figure out how to make this at home. Below is what I wore, had to add a blazer as it was a little cool and rainy.

9 Years ago today.... I got married. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. It seems like it was yesterday. It has been quite a ride and I am sure my husband must deserve some sort of medal for putting up with me. Looking forward to the next 9..... These pictures are not my professional ones, they are moments that were captured by family and friends. They are grainy and out of focus but I kind of like them like that.

Easy Breezy

I call this my Easy Breezy outfit because it doesn't get any easier than Jeans and a White Tee. Throw on a colourful scarf and some cute shoes and your ready to run out the door. Plus it is super comfy. Can't get any better than easy and comfortable.

Less is More

When I get dressed I usually pile on multiple accessories, I get so excited and want to wear so many different things at once. Then I always take the majority of it off. I am a true believer that less is more when it comes to dressing. I had on a big statement necklace with this outfit then took it off. The lace on the sleeves was enough, I didn't need any additional pieces that would take away from this detail. I settled for a small necklace and a larger bracelet.

Water Fight!

I try really hard to live by the below quote. Yesterday I was attempting to do some gardening when my son and his friend decided to pull out the water guns. They thought it was funny to try and get me so I ran around the backyard until I could get to the door to go inside and take cover. I remembered a few years earlier my husband had bought my son (himself) a ridiculously over the top super soaker. I knew my son had forgotten about it. The looks on their faces when I came charging out the door with the super soaker fully loaded was priceless. We all ended up soaking wet.

Hello Spring...

Thanks for all the wishes for my son's Birthday yesterday. He had a wonderful day.
I think the weather here has finally broken, it has been sunny and warm all week and the week-end looks like it will be the same. We can officially say it is Spring, so I am bidding my socks and coats a very big farwell until the fall. I will not miss them one bit!

The Day My Life Changed

Today is the day that 8 years ago my life changed forever. My beautiful baby boy was born and I discovered a love that I never knew existed. It has been an amazing 8 years so today I dedicate everything to this funny, smart, generous and kind little boy.
Happy Birthday My Little Sunshine. May All of Your Dreams Come True!

Colour Blind

I have no idea what colour this shirt is. Unlike my husband I am not colour blind (or in denial that I am colour blind), I just honestly am not sure if it is more grey or green but feel like it is a perfect blend of the two colours. I don't think the pictures truly show it correctly. I bought it because of this cool colour and the style, the neckline is amazing. Makes it a little challenging to style but I figure with dark jeans I am safe.

Navy & Tan

Happy May 1st! Had an amazing time last night at the Lumineers concert, they put on a fabulous show. Just looking over my April Budget and I have to say I did very very well. Total spent was only $28.00 and that included 1 pair of shoes, a scarf and a ring. Pretty good!
One of the things I bought in my March budget were these pants. I love the navy details that are on the pockets and around the waist. Navy and Tan are such a great combo.

The Lumineers

I am excited today as I am going to see the Lumineers tonight. It has been awhile since I have been to a concert so I'm looking forward to hearing some live music.
I have worn this sweater before Here as a more dressy look, but wanted to make it more casual in this outfit. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Colourful Jeans

I had a great week-end in Ottawa with my Brother and his family. The weather seems to have finally broken and Spring might just have finally arrived. I love mixing these jeans with just about anything. I have shown them several times with different options. They are exactly what a pair of colourful jeans should be...multipurpose.

Quote Day

I am a big believer in what you put out into the world is what you will get back! This quote sums that up perfectly. Hope everyone is enjoying their week-ends.

My Office / Closet

I am away this week-end visiting my younger brother and his family. So I thought I would do something a little different today. If you have read my first ever post on this blog then you will know that I converted one of the rooms in our house to my closet / office. I thought I would share a few of my pictures from what is behind all of my blog pictures.

This sits on the top of my window, a rare day of blue sky and sunshine.

Some inspiration (Audrey Hepburn is one of my style icon's)

This sits on a shelf in my bookcase.

Here is my small desk where I do all my work. I had to keep it small as I tend to be a bit of a pack rat so the more desk space I am given the more junk I would collect. My pen holder is a gift my son made me in daycare.

How to Wear a Shrunken Sweater

I know this is a long title, but have you ever had this problem.......you pull out one of your favourite sweaters to wear, only to discover, that either a.) you have grown a few inches taller since you last wore it or b.) I guess you may have thrown it in the dryer the last time you washed it (oops).

Well, here is my solution.....Add a tank top underneath and voila...you can now wear this sweater out without showing off areas that you would rather stay hidden until you are on a beach with a nice tan.
